Tracking Unit: This is a vital attribute of a checksheet, indicating the type of object that is being inspected or measured by the data collected within the checksheet. Examples of tracking unit include "order number", "vehicle number", "date code", "job number", "audit number", "container number" and so on. Using different tracking units enables you to collect data about many different kinds of things at your site and keep the data about each separate. .
To define a tracking unit, you specify have the following: Tracking Unit Description, Tracking Unit Label, Tracking Unit Language, and the Mask.
There are two places where tracking units are used:
- When creating a new checksheet - each instance of a checksheet level tracking unit is assigned a unique Product Serial Numbers
- When tracking material usage with material tracking check items - inventory is maintained by tracking unit per tracking number, part and storage location
When creating new checksheet.
- Click on tracking unit. Then click on Add tracking unit.
2. Tracking Unit: create a tracking unit that applies to the checksheet.
3. Tracking Unit Description: Enter the best description for your checksheet.
4. Tracking Unit Label: Type in the right Label for your checksheet.
5. Language name: Language as specified.
6. Mask: The Mask controls the tracking number format as selected by the company.
7. Then click on create.
For Material Tracking Check Items
Select Produced Material check Item type.
Fill in/turn on the required fields.
- Click on tracking unit. Then click on Add tracking unit.

3. Tracking Unit Description: Enter the best description for your checksheet.
4. Tracking Unit Label: Type in the right Label for your checksheet.
5. Language name: Language as specified.
6. Mask: The Mask controls the tracking number format as selected by the company.
7. Then click on create.
Note: The input mask on a Numeric Variable is different from the mask on the tracking unit used when creating a new checksheet(Product Serial Numbers) and check item(MTS Check Items tracking numbers).

1) Click on Site Settings (Gear Icon)
2) Click the Base Table Explorer
3) Select the Tracking Unit table.
4) Fetch table to edit
