Purpose
Messaging is designed to provide simple to comprehensive quality alerts to operations when entering a checksheet.
Access
Click the Site Settings icon ⚙
From menu bar, select MessagesV2 - Note: this feature is in pre-release status
Display
After clicking the MessagesV2, the interface will show 1) Create New Message, 2) Manage Current Messages if there are any active messages, and 3) Expired Message - these are the messages that have expired based on the date time settings
Operations
Create New Messages
To create new message, click on the Create New Message button. New Message interface will allow you to enter a Message information and where it will be applied (bread crumb.)
Message Information
- Message Name - name you give to manage the message
- Message Reason - brief description for the reason for the message
- Start Date - message activation date
- Expires - message expire date
Breadcrumb
Level where the message will be displayed when user enters eCS. You could select one or all levels, e.g. you can select Station and Product, or Station + Product + Plan, etc.. We have also introduced "All" option for each level that when selected, it will apply to all items within that breadcrumb category.
You must Save your new message first before you can enter into Step Info to create and manage Alerts, etc.
Step Info
After you have saved your message, you can enter Step Info interface to create your Alerts and Bobble Up steps.
To create a new alert, click on Alert button
To create a new bubble up check item(s), click on Bubble Up
Create New Alert
After you click Alert, you will enter an interface with wiki rich editor to allow you design and create a message.
- You will need to provide an Alert Name and put your message details in the Contents box.
- With the wiki editor, you can format your text, add links and images to support you story
- Decide frequency of the message to be displayed. Your options are 1) Always On, 2) Once and 3) Repeated
- You can also require user to acknowledge the message has been read
to save the new Alert, click Apply New Step.
Manage Current Messages
This interface will allow you to manage active messages. You can,
enable or disable the message
edit and change message information and bread crumb
Expired Messages
There are three types of Messages 1) Alert, 2) Bubble-up Check Item and 3) Notification
- Alert - notifies the operator of the current issue or outstanding need which has to be met and this can be shown repeatedly, always on or one time notification, depends on what the planner/administrator set. Also, if the message alert is set to require user confirmation, then it takes over the operator's screen till they confirm, then click on close, before it disappears.
2. Bubble-up - when one or more check items within a checksheet become critical to quality and require operation attention. These check items, regardless of their original position on the chekcsheet will bubble up to the top of the checksheet with a bright thick orange color borders to get user attention. You have the option to Prevent Trackout or Force Interaction with the selected check items.
